How did you get into radio?

After a radio production course and work experience here and there I successfully undertook a Newspaper Journalism Post Grad. I pestered Steve Hothersall a few times trying to get work experience at Radio City before he eventually succumbed to my haranguing and my dream came true in November 2000 and I haven’t looked back since.

If you weren’t on the radio what would you be doing?

I’d be a Graphic Designer. I turned down a degree course in the subject in order to get into radio, my big decision thankfully paid off!

What would you regard as your greatest achievement yet?

Too many too mention! Becoming the producer of a sport show I had listened to religiously for years was a dream come true. Being involved in all of Liverpool’s Cup Finals since 2001 plus helping the reds win the Champions League Final in 2005 with a few motivational CD‘s for the players, well it helped in a small way anyway!

What’s the best story you’ve ever reported on?

I’d probably say the Champions League Final of 2007 - the emotions running up to the game couldn’t have been any different to the ones after. The build up to the match was intense with half the city willing Liverpool to claim their 6th European Cup, there was such a carnival atmosphere on the day. The game ended in defeat but in the end the 90 minutes became incidental after what came to light after the full time whistle - The ticket and stadium security fiasco made the headlines and it all culminated in Radio City seeking an apology from UEFA and promise of it never happening again.

How do you like to relax?

I don’t get time to relax - if I’m not in work I’m hectic with the kids at home!! I’d love a beer…

What bands / acts are you into?

So many to mention - Killers, Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, Razorlight, Coldplay, Kaiser Chiefs, you get the picture!

What was the last album you bought?

Killers - Sam’s Town

What’s your favourite thing about the city?

The people, it's like a village, everyone seems to know each other. It's very friendly, not like some other places I won't mention in the country!

How would you describe Liverpool?

Fun, vibrant, friendly, funny and the place to be in 2008!

What’s your favourite memory of the city?

Seeing the hordes of Liverpool fans on the Champions League homecoming in 2005.

If you couldn’t be in Liverpool, where would you be?

Australia. Lived there for a year when I was a kid, I’d love to return one day.

If you were given the power to pass one law right now what would it be?

That all Premier League games kick off at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon!

Do you have any guilty pleasures?

Some of those Girls Aloud songs are so catchy…. ;-)

Four words to describe yourself…

Ask the missus!

If we’re talking football, who would you rather see lift silverware?

Liverpool of course!
