5-a-side world record attempt

Everton’s Leighton Baines and Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher agreed to be team managers and picked two teams of supporters that went head-to-head to break the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous game of five-a-side football.
The game took place on Saturday March 27 and those playing in it smashed the record by achieving 31 hours of continuous football what an achievment!!!!
We would like to thank all the lads for their efforts what a fantastic thing to do and to everyone that was involved in making the event happen
Leighton Baines said: "I think it was a great idea. The lads at Everton told me what it was all about and I was quite keen to get involved."
Over £20,000 was raised which is fantastic!!! Radio City’s Cash for Kids, Carra’s 23 Foundation and The Everton Foundation are set to benefit from the proceedings.
Carra added: "We wanted to raise as much money as possible for the causes. I haven’t been involved in anything like this before.
The fact we got the world record is brilliant for the city. To get both Everton and Liverpool involved is great and it has helped to bring the city together."
