Marathon broadcaster: Simon Ross was on air from 8am Thursday morning to 8am Friday morning Radio City's Cash For Kids are celebrating raising over £30,000 from Rossie's 24 Hour Breakfast at Cafe Sports England. Rossie completed the marathon broadcast which helped raise much needed cash for local children's charities in Liverpool, the North West and North Wales.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, defender Jamie Carragher, Everton's Leon Osman and Hollyoaks actress Jess Fox all joined Rossie during the show. Liverpool band The Christians performed two classic tracks during the late evening while recently freed LFC fan Michael Shields joined in to support Radio City's Cash For Kids event. Thousands of people bid for money can't buy auction prizes like a signed Steven Gerrard England shirt which went for £1800. Two lucky listeners also won the chance to be mascot at the Derby matches this season in a raffle draw.
Rebecca Norris will watch the Anfield derby in February 2010 and said: "Winning this is beyond my wildest dreams. I'll be taking my little nine-year-old brother who never leaves the house without his Liverpool shirt on. "You always enter competitions like this but never expect to win so to be going to the Anfield Derby thanks to Radio City is unbelievable." Radio City's Charity Manager, Carole Clare, said: "Rossie was absolutely fantastic during the 24 hour broadcast which was a brilliant event for Cash For Kids. "The atmosphere in Cafe Sports was amazing all day and all night. I want to say a huge thanks to everyone who gave us their support, showed up to say hello and donated money." Radio City would like to thank everyone who got involved with Rossie's 24 Hour Breakfast.

He was given huge support from sports stars to actors during the marathon broadcast.
John Campbell, from Fazakerley, won the Everton FC package at Goodison Park while Rebecca Norris, from Moreton, won the Liverpool FC draw.
