Tributes to Phil

Phil suffered a heart attack at his home in Crosby and tragically passed away on February 2nd 2009.
He leaves behind his wife, two sons and a daughter.
The 59-year-old begun broadcasting at Radio City more than 30 years ago and was also well known in football circles as the voice of Anfield.
Richard Maddock, Station Director for Radio City, Magic and City Talk said:
"We are deeply saddened to hear this tragic news. Phil was an astounding broadcaster and friend to everyone here at Radio City, Magic and City Talk. Our thoughts are with his family at this terrible time."
Phil's co-host on City Talk 105.9 Kim Hughes added: "I’m naturally devastated. Phil was more than my co-host; he was my friend. I will miss him endlessly and send all of my love to his family." Read more from Kim here.
